Have you ever tried to visit a favorite web site only to get some sort of "site is down" or error message? There is a web site where you can check to see if the site really is down. The address is www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com. There is an edit box with google.com as the default. Just delete google and type in the webssite you are trying to check.
I was having trouble getting onto the zone earlier today. Then I found out about this web site and decided to try typing in the zone's address. This was at least an hour after I had last tried to get on the zone. I got the message "it's just you" and sure enough, the zone was working again by then. I suppose if the zone had still been down, I would have gotten the message it's not just you or somethinglike that.
I've have seen it report sites as down so it seems to work. you can go to isup.me if you don't want to type the long URL.
